Happy Birthday Rebekah!!!

Rebekah on her birthday!

On Sunday the 3rd of June it was my little sister Rebekah’s birthday! She turned 3!!!! She had a ‘Dress-UP’ party! Everyone had to ‘Dress-UP’.

Sofia really liked the idea of ‘dressing-up’!!

Beth really dressed the part!

Gabrielle!

Even Sofia dressed up in a pretty dress!!!

She invited Beth, Gabrielle and our neighbours. The invitations were handbags with an iced biscuit inside. We got the party theme from an IDEAS magazine.

My Mom and I made the handbags out of scrap-booking paper!

The inside of the handbags.

The party table! We got the paper dolls from the IDEAS magazine too.

The cake!!
I made the cake batter and my mom iced it. Inside the cake there was a big surprise! Rebekah was wondering the whole day what the surprise was, I mean, what can be in the cake other than cake?

And the big surprise was...

A RAINBOW CAKE!!!!!!!

Rebekah was so surprised to see a colourful cake!!

But no matter what the colour the cake was she still enjoyed it!!!

Rebekah and her cake!

I hope you enjoyed your birthday ‘Madam Rebekah’!!

Happy Birthday Mommy And 41 Things We Love About You!!!

On the 14th of February (Valentine’s Day) it was my mom’s birthday! Kelly and I made my Mom a special birthday meal! Kelly did the cooking and I did the table setting!

The menu was:

Roast Chicken with Garlic, Rosemary and Lemon
Fresh Green Salad
Green Beans and carrots fried in butter
Roast Potatoes
Cauliflower in Cheese Sauce

The roast Chicken was Delicious!

One of my favourite salads is a fresh green salad!

This is a family favourite!

The Green Beans and carrot salad was very nice!

The food was almost finished cooking when the electricity went off! So none of the dishes looked quite like we wanted them to, and we could not play music during the meal as we had planned! The electricity did not go on until sometime late that night when we were all asleep! Luckily my dad was able to set up our small gas stove to finish the food, otherwise it would have been bye- bye to the birthday meal!

I cut 8 hearts out of pretty scrapbooking paper and wrote everybody’s name on the front and a little message on the back as place setting cards! I got the gorgeous flowers from our neighbour as our flower garden is non-existent for now. Because the electricity went off we had to use candles so that we could see what we were eating!

We gave my mom her present and cards before supper. Kelly, my dad and I got mom a Pasta making machine for her birthday! Mom was soooo happy!

Mom’s present! I wrapped it and Kelly made the card!

Our New House!

On Sunday, the 29th of January, we moved into our new house! We were all so excited! It is not too far from our old house, so the drive was not long! The kittens did not like driving in the car and meowed a lot! The little ones thought that moving was a great adventure and enjoyed it lots! Our new house is much bigger than our old house and it is also on a farm! It needs a lot of work, but, when we are done, it will be beautiful! We can have animals, a veggie garden and lots of flowers! I will be posting again soon about our lives on our new farm! Have a good weekend!

Heidi's Baking Fun Challenge - Lemon Cordial

Sorry I haven't posted sooner, but we have been very busy packing to move! Even though this week has been rather busy, I still had time to make something to enter into ‘Heidi’s Baking Fun Challenge’ which is ‘Smoothies and Cold Drinks’ this fortnight and I made Lemon Cordial!

It is very easy and quick to make.
All you need is:

1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 cup of sugar

Put both ingredients into a small saucepan and stir over a medium heat on the stove until the sugar has dissolved.  Pour the syrup into a jug/bowl and leave to cool for about 5 minutes.  Then pour it into a glass bottle.  Cut a slice of lemon in half and pop it into the bottle of cordial.  Pour a little into a glass and top up with cold water and ice.
Enjoy!

Happy Wedding Anniversary Mom and Dad!

On the 8th of January my mom and dad celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary! We all went to Jubilee Creek and had a picnic. The littles played in the creek and Kelly and I found a deeper spot to swim in! It was soooo much fun!!!

Mommy and Daddy!

Rebekah just resting in the water!

Kelly and I were very busy before the day making presents for our mom and dad!
We both made them a card and I made a felt heart that said Mom and Dad 18 Years!

My card!

I made a wire heart and threaded it with beads!

The felt heart

The mosaic wall-hanging!

The other day when my mom was trying to clear the kitchen table she accidently bumped my mug over and it broke, so Kelly and I decided to make a mosaic wall-hanging with the pieces of the mug for their anniversary. We used 3 different wooden heart sizes, organza ribbon, paper roses and beads. I hope you both had a lovely day mom and dad!
